Checking Blood Pressure/Heart pressure

A couple days ago we played with stethoscope and blood pressure readings. I played doctor with Desi as she did the same with me. I couldn't get the old fashion way to work for me. I had a hard time getting air to pump through. I did hear her heart beat though.
i had to learn about a lub and a dub of the heart beat. we have two beats for the heart. The first beat is the lub and the second beat is the dub. So together the heart is Lub Dub.
At first even with the upgraded blood pressure monitor I couldn't get a reading on Desi heart and blood pressure. After a while I had to reach 160 just so it could get a reading.
For me I only had to get up to at least 120 and the monitor got my heart beat right away. Also at first it was hard to even get a heart beat but after a few tries we got it to work for us.
